Postpartum doula support looks like having a professional dedicated to supporting families, especially the birthing person, through one of the most vulnerable time periods of their life. As a postpartum doula I am trained to recognize postpartum mood disorders, help with breastfeeding and bottlefeeding, teach parents normal newborn behaviors and empower parents to trust their instincts. Postpartum doula support can also provide light housekeeping along with a loving shoulder to cry on while you work through your emotions surrounding your birthing experience. Village Life also provides the unique service of overnight support so that you can get a full night of sleep, meet your feeding goals and parent your newborn with a clear head the next day.
Parent Coaching is based on my experience in developmental education with both neurotypical and neurodiverse families. Parent coaching is for families who are looking for support in creating age appropriate expectations and are having trouble finding solutions that work for both parent and child.
I believe that all children and parents are doing the best that they can with the knowledge that they have. Village Life aims to be a neutral space for parents to work through issues that are hindering them from living their best life and leading their children with respect and fun, always keeping connection at the forefront of any discipline.
